The Radnor High School Scholarship
Fund (The Fund) was founded in 1966 to provide
financial aid to deserving graduates of Radnor
High School for post-high school education.
Following an application, screening (by neutral,
third-party reviewers) and personal interview
process, where privacy of information is maintained,
commitments of scholarships are made for up
to four years of advanced, full-time study.
Continuation of this support is contingent upon
financial need, satisfactory educational performance
and our ability to fund the program.
The Fund has expanded its scope considerably
over the years and currently awards between
25 and 30 scholarships annually and is assisting
over 100 students.
Our recipients attend a wide range of education
institutions including major universities, community
colleges and schools specializing in music,
art, culinary training, etc. - all representing
the basic philosophy of The Fund: Further education
in any field of choice can only make the future
brighter for a young person and contribute to
a stronger, more-informed community.
The Fund is manned entirely by un-paid volunteers
from the community. Its income is derived from
a variety of sources including: mailing campaigns
to the Radnor community, local corporations
and past Radnor graduates; fund-raising events
such as the Fourth of July Fireworks, Breakfast
with Santa, a Spring dinner and auction, art
shows featuring local artists and donations
and bequests from individuals and organizations.
The Fund receives no public funds and reimburses
Radnor Township and Radnor School District for
expenses incurred in support of The Fund's activities.
